Science Experiential Projects (SEP)
The Science Department is committed to designing and delivering meaningful, real-world learning experiences that cultivate 21st Century Competencies (E21CC) in students. By grounding lessons in authentic contexts, we inspire deeper thinking, encourage critical analysis, and nurture skills that are both lasting and transferable.
Approaches
Secondary One
Secondary One students take part in the “Sustainability X VIA Project,”
a meaningful initiative that empowers them to contribute to environmental
sustainability in Singapore. Through this platform, students will:
-
Explore the environmental challenges Singapore faces,
-
Understand how science and technology play a key role in addressing these challenges,
-
Discover emerging technologies and related career pathways,
-
Make a positive impact by:
-
Raising awareness of sustainability issues, and
-
Proposing innovative, practical solutions.
-
Secondary Two & Three
As students advance to the upper secondary levels, they are given opportunities
to apply their scientific knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges.
Our goals are to:
-
Develop students’ design thinking and problem-solving abilities through a design-inquiry approach,
-
Highlight the real-world relevance of the scientific concepts learned in the classroom.
