CPA Challenge at FajarSec_1.JPGCPA Challenge at FajarSec_2.JPG

Gareth Kwok and Lam Ming Jie from Sec 2/5 came in 3rd in the CPA Challenge organised by Fajar Secondary School.

EBS is only offered at Secondary 3 and 4.  The main aim of the syllabus is to develop in students the knowledge,
kills and attitudes to be productive employees and contributing members of society (retrieved from HERE). These skills and knowledge are learnt in the context of businesses in travel and tourism, hospitality and retail industries.

To enhance our students’ learning in EBS, we strongly believe in providing first-hand experiences in in travel and tourism, hospitality and retail industries. One way is through learning journeys where students learn experientially and through reflection. After students’ first-hand experience of being a tourist at the River Safari and a shopper at Hillion Mall, they reflected on their experiences to deepen knowledge of basic marketing and customer relations.

Students making their way to Hillion Mall, the first mixed-use development in the West of Singapore to integrate a retail mall, residential living, bus interchange and both
MRT and LRT stations. As they walked along Upper Bukit Timah Road, they saw a stark difference between the old shophouses and the snazzy brand new Hiilion Mall.
